PERSEFONE releases new video “Living Waves”!

The progressive metal monster a.k.a. Persefone is releasing “Living Waves”, the second video from their highly-acclaimed 5th album “Aathma” which was released worldwide on February 24th. The song features a very special guest appearance from the legendary Paul Masvidal (Cynic, ex Death).

Carlos Lozano’s own words about “Living Waves”:
“Picking one song from an album that works as a whole, is always a complicated task. “Living Waves” marks the middle point, musically as well as lyrically on the album before its conclusion, and with the addition of Paul Masvidal’s vocals, lyrics and guitar playing, it creates a unique atmosphere by itself. That’s why we chose this piece of music and this message, to go along the images with this clip”

LIVING WAVES – OFFICIAL VIDEO (featuring Paul Masvidal)

  1. Hi friends!

I bought Aathma and after having listened several times, I wanted to share my thoughts, as it might be interesting for you to have a feedback from a fan.

I confess that I discovered Persefone not so long ago, after the release of Spiritual Migration. I was blown away by that record and had the opportunity to see you live in Switwerland, near Basilea, where I will have the pleasure to see you again as you come back on 13.04.17!

First, I was a bit disappointed by the direction you had chosen with Aathma, far less aggressive and action-packed then Spiritual Migration, somewhat less tecnical (drums especially).

But then I realised that you moved on and it is just something different, more aerial and more about feelings than the “in your face” style of Spiritual Migration.

Congrats for daring to evolve and keeping exploring new musical horizons!

As soon as I accepted Aathma as it is, for itself and not as a Spiritual Migration follower, it has been a very good experience, from start to end.

For me, the most emotional song is No Faced Mindless, with it incredible main verse at the beginning and end of the song, and also the breathtaking part around 1:50, with that out-of-nowhere guitar, so nice, so exotic in prog metal. Aathma: Part III also fantastic, heavy with that nice rythme pattern.

Overall, thank you guys for taking so much time in creating unforgettable musical moments.

    See you on tour!

    • Thanks a lot for your comment Martin! Glad that you love our music and that you have understood the direction we have taken with Aathma :)
